Worship Service at the Fairgrounds
The Greentown Ministerial Association will hold a Worship Service at the Howard County 4H Fairgrounds in Greentown, Sunday., July 6, at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the South Grandstand. Music provided by The Zion Choir. The guest speaker will be Randy Ollis.

Howard County 4-H Fair
The Howard County 4-H Fair in Greentown runs July 7-14, featuring entertainment, rides, food, pageants, animals, and an astounding array of crafts and creations by local residents. Enjoy the Pioneer Village, the traditional sawmill and wheat threshing demonstrations, Granpa Cratchet, the Midway, and so much more. The Midway rides open Tue., July 8. YMCA STEM Camp
Summer STEM Camp at Camp Tycony provides fun and educational activities designed to enhance children’s understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Thanks to generous support from the United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, there is no charge for this camp. Registration is open now, and spots are limited. Children may attend one session. Adult Summer Reading Program
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold its annual Adult Summer Reading Program through July 11. Themed “Color Our World,” the program invites you to employ your creativity in a variety of artistic activities as you read. Sign up, receive a reading log. Check out books and turn in your registration sheets to get summer started right! Win fantastic prizes by just reading for two hours. Prizes are awarded for up to 10 hours of reading, and whenever you visit the library to borrow books. Greentown Library Book Sale
Join the Greentown Public Library through July 13 for its annual book sale. Find great deals in the Library Community Room during normal operating hours as well as at the Howard County 4H Fair. All items will be 50 cents, with the proceeds benefiting library programs. Donations are being accepted at the library, 421 S. Harrison St.
Super Explorers Camps
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department is expanding its Super Explorers Camp this year, offering two sessions of both Junior and Senior Super Explorers Camps. Registration for the second camps sessions is open now. Junior Super Explorers for children ages 5-8 will be July 7-11, and Senior Super Explorers for children ages 9-11 takes place July 14-18. The camps will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. To register, visit the KPRD office in Highland Park.
Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., July 7. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Meditation Mondays
Experience change, growth, and vitality through meditation with Raine and Sage Healing Center, 901 S. Courtland Ave. Sessions take place every first and third Monday of the month from 10-10:45 a.m. and are free to all. The next session takes place on Mon., July 7.
Under the Sea Adventures
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Mon., July 7, for some Under the Sea Adventures. For this exciting, ocean-themed outdoor adventure, kids can engage in fun activities that spark creativity and curiosity. Reach Youth Summer Program
Looking for a summer program for the kids while they’re out of school? Turning Point will offer a Reach Youth program, Monday through Friday, through July 25 at its Reach Youth Office, 216 W. Walnut St. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, kids will experience educational trips, sports and recreation, social enrichment, arts and crafts, relationship building, and free lunch. Recovery Café
Turning Point – A System of Care offers the Recovery Café, a time to connect with love, show respect, cultivate compassion, practice forgiveness, encourage growth, and to give something back. KPRD Recreation Adventure
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold its Recreation Adventure Program at Highland, Bon Air, and Mohr parks through July 8. From noon until 5 p.m., staff will be on hand at each park to offer leadership and organized games and sports for children, who may come and go on their own. Playgrounds will be supervised during these times. The staff also will offer arts and crafts, games, picnics, and storytelling.
Story Time on the Porch
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Mon., July 7, for story time on the porch of the LEAD Center (4-H fair office) at the Howard County Fairgrounds. You'll hear guest readers share their favorite stories from 2-2:30 p.m. and from 6-6:30 p.m. Story Time will take place daily through July 10 at this venue and at these times.
Adult Technology Camp

Mental Health Access Days
Are you an adult struggling with anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenge? Meet with a professional from 4C Health who can connect you to the support and services you need. Mental Health Access Days are held each Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s main branch, 220 N. Union St.
Free Summer Food Bags
This summer, all Tipton County families with kids under age 17 can register to pick up a free weekly food bag. Through Aug. 2, the bags will be available at the Tipton County Family Resource Center, 3021 W. Old St. (Ind. 28), as well as the Boys and Girls Club, and the Love Bug Café, 222 S. Independence St. The pick-up times are Mondays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Each bag includes shelf-stable, kid-friendly food items along with a voucher for hot food from The Love Bug Café. Register in person at the Family Resource Center or call 765-667-7001 for additional information. The summer food bag program is accepting donations and volunteers throughout the summer. Messy Art Day
Get ready to get messy! Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library for an outdoor art adventure where creativity knows no limits on Tue., July 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. We’ll be diving into splatter painting and other hands-on, colorful activities. Northwestern Schools Summer Meals
Northwestern School Corp. will offer a summer meal program, free to all friends ages 18 and under. Meal pick-up will be available at Howard Elementary School, 3526 N, CR 300 E, at Door 2, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday. The last day of distribution will be July 15. Summer Lunch Program
The Kokomo Housing Authority, Bridgeway Church, United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, the Howard County Health Department, the Center Township Trustee’s Office, Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union, Northview Church, and Crossroads Community Church have collaborated to launch the Howard County Summer Lunch Program. Each Wednesday through July 23, all students from Howard County are eligible to receive a hot meal from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Bon Air Park, Garden Square Apartments, and Pine Valley Apartments. They also can receive a grab-n-go bag of food during each event. If there are hot meals still available at the end of each event, adults may purchase a hot meal for $5. Kokomo Park Band Concert
The Kokomo Park Band returns on Wed., July 9, to experience The Greatest Show on Earth at 7:30 p.m. on the Highland Park Stage. The Peru Circus City Festival will take place July 11-19 in Peru, Ind., featuring the 200 performers of the Peru Amateur Circus and the second largest parade in all of Indiana. Yoga in the Park
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department welcomes back Yoga in the Park, featuring 11 free yoga sessions in three different public parks. The sessions are open to all skill levels and are totally free to the public. Classes will take place in Jackson Morrow Park at the shelter from 6-7 p.m. on Sat., July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 20. Highland Park will host classes at the Earthen Stage from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., July 19, and Aug. 2. Foster Park will feature yoga at the Performing Arts Pavilion from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., July 16, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6. KPRD does not supply mats or other equipment.
Riverwalk Concert
Aaron Kamm and the One Drops will take the Riverwalk Stage with opener Wampus Milk Daddies on Sat., July 12, beginning at 6 p.m. Free admission. The stage is located along the south bank of the Wildcat Creek, just west of the Foxes Trail restaurant in downtown Kokomo. Food and drink will be available for purchase from The Coterie.
