MONDAY
Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., May 12. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Monday Fun Day Story Time
Story time is a valuable opportunity for your child to develop essential literacy, social, and creative skills. Join the Kokomo Howard County Library at its Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr., on Mon., May 12, from 10-11 a.m. for a great story. For children ages 2-5 and their caregivers.
Sew Much

Recovery Café
Turning Point – A System of Care offers the Recovery Café, a time to connect with love, show respect, cultivate compassion, practice forgiveness, encourage growth, and to give something back. Greentown Historical Society Exhibition
The Greentown Historical Society, 103 E. Main St., Greentown, presents a new exhibition commemorating the 1965 Palm Sunday Tornadoes in Greentown and Howard County. The society is open every Saturday and Monday from 1-4 p.m. Tours may be arranged at other times by texting 765-626-0164.
Fun with Cricut

Senior Thesis Exhibition

Teen Summer Reading Program
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold its Teen Summer Reading Program through May 30. During the program, several special events will be held.

Adopt and Let Love Grow
Through May 15, the Kokomo Humane Society will “Spring” into love with reduced adoption rates. Dogs can be adopted for $100, while cats are available for $30. Puppies and kittens are not included in this effort.

Story Time: Tiny Tykes

Genealogy for Night Owls
Visit the Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., on Fri., May 16, from 4:30-11:59 p.m. for Genealogy for Night Owls. During this special lock-in session, participants will have the opportunity to explore their family history. The evening includes a buffet supper, snacks, and small goodies. The computers will be accessible through midnight to search databases. The cost is $20. Reservations are required and must be made in person in the Genealogy and Local History Department by May 12.
Purple and Gold Seersucker Fundraiser
The Kokomo Scholarship Charity Corporation (KSCC) and Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity are sponsoring an annual scholarship fundraiser. On May 16, the Purple and Gold Seersucker Fundraiser will be at The Hobson, located at 110 N. Washington St. This will be a dinner dance event with a live band and a DJ, tasking place from 6-11 p.m. KSCC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission of service to the community. Contributions are tax deductible. The community is invited to come out and network with other local organizations that are providing funds to support local scholarships. Tickets are $65 each. The Yellow Boat
Curtain Call Theatre for Children will present The Yellow Boat on Fri., May 16, at 7 p.m., as well as on Sat., May 18, at 1 p.m. and on Sun., May 18, at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The performances will take place at Curtain Call Studio, 2114 N. The story of The Yellow Boat is a glorious affirmation of a child’s life and the strength and courage of all children, based on the true story of Benjamin Saar, a child born with congenital hemophilia who died in 1987 at the age of 8 from AIDS-related complications. This performance is recommended for parents, families, adults, and children ages 8 and older.

The Joy Journey mobile petting zoo will visit Jackson Morrow Park as the Creature Feature arrives Sat., May 17, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. A camel, a mini horse, a calf, goats, sheep, alpacas, a chicken, and a bunny rabbit will be among the special guests. KSO Diamond Jubilee
The Kokomo Symphony Orchestra will celebrate 75 years – its Diamond Jubilee – on Sat., May 17, at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., May 18, at 2 p.m. The orchestra will team up with the Kokomo Civic Theatre to present a Broadway celebration, featuring music from across the theatre’s 75-year history.
