Boeing Boeing
Fasten your seatbelts for a hilarious journey into the chaotic and comedic life of Bernard and his flight attendant fiancées! Kokomo Civic Theatre will present Boeing Boeing, a laugh-out-loud farce you won’t want to miss. Park Band Winter Concert
The Kokomo Park Band will present its winter concert, sponsored by Comprehensive Planning Corp., on Sun., Feb. 23, from 3-4:45 p.m. at the Kokomo High School Auditorium, 2501 S. Berkley Road. The concert will feature trombonist John Huntoon on “Slidin’ Down the Mississippi” and the Retired Rum-Runners Traditional Jazz Band. Along with festive music from the French Quarter of New Orleans, the band will perform major works consisting of two collections based on Cajun folk music by composer Frank Ticheli. At intermission, the IU Kokomo Flute Choir will perform New Orleans-themed music. Beads and Mardi Gras cookies will be available for the audience. Admission is free, but folks are encouraged to bring toiletry items, including body wash, deodorant, and bathroom tissue, for C.A.M.

Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., Feb. 24. Core and Glutes Burn
New class alert! The Kokomo Family YMCA, 114 N. Union St., presents Core and Glutes Burn on Mondays at 5:35 p.m. in the TRX area. Your core and glutes are essential for supporting your body, so give them the attention they deserve. In this 30-minute class, you will focus on exercises that target your core and strengthen your posterior chain using unilateral movements. This targeted approach will help prepare you for improved movement in the future. Cleaning Supplies Giveaway
South Side Christian Church, 201 E. Markland Ave., will hold a cleaning supplies giveaway on Tue., Feb. 25, beginning at 1 p.m. The church has 60 baskets of dish soap, laundry soap, toilet cleaner, Windex, and other cleaning liquids. Once 60 people are in line, the baskets will be distributed.
All Shook Up Elvis Party

Glitz and Glamour Dinner Show
The Taylor High School Choral Department will host a Glitz and Glamour Dinner Show on Thu., Feb. 27, beginning at 6 p.m. The dinner will include spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, bread, and chocolate Texas sheet cake. The Carver Community Center and Purdue Extension – Howard County have teamed up to offer Learn, Grow, Eat, and Go! This program grows good kids through an interdisciplinary program, combining academic achievement, gardening, nutrient-dense food experiences, physical activities, and school and family engagement. This program is open to students in grades K-2 and takes place on Wed., Feb. 26, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The registration fee is $5 per session. Community Baby Shower
The Salvation Army, 1007 E. Foster St., will hold a Community Baby Shower on Wed., Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. Are you pregnant, or do you know someone who is? The Salvation Army would like to celebrate with you. The first 30 ladies who RSVP are invited to join the Salvation Army to celebrate the arrival of their little ones. There will be games, door prizes, treats, and diapers to share.
Kickboxing
The Kokomo Family YMCA, 114 N. Union St., offers Kickboxing with Joanna each Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. in the Y’s Functional Fitness Room. Black History Month Dance Expo
Celebrate African culture’s influence on dance in American throughout the years as the Black History Month Dance Expo comes to Rhine Hall Entertainment and Event Venue on Fri., Feb. 28. KPRD Softball
Registration for the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department’s softball leagues – men’s, women’s, and co-ed – will close on Fri., Feb. 28. Kokomo Handbell Festival
The 41st annual Kokomo Handbell Festival, featuring handbell choirs from six local churches, will take place Sat., March 1, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 2635 S. Dixon Road. The choirs will be directed by Derek Hayes.
General Scholarships Deadline Nears

Harmony of Heritage
The Kokomo Symphony Orchestra will perform its Harmony of Heritage concert on Sat., March 1. This celebration of Black music in history will take place at IU Kokomo’s Havens Auditorium, 2300 S. Washington St., at 7 p.m. The Harmony of Heritage brings together performing arts organizations with multiple choirs from the area to celebrate music by Black composers and performers to celebrate Black History Month. Tickets are $25 each, $5 for college students, and free for students K-12 and children. Tickets are available at www.kokomosymphony.net.
Photography Exhibition
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will feature an exhibition showcasing the photography of local resident Terry Steiner. The exhibition will take place from March 1-8 in the library’s community room. Steiner brings 25 years of experience in capturing the essence of life through his lens.
Community Food Drive
The Center Township Trustee’s Office is holding its second annual Community Food Drive, March 1-31. The drive will benefit the office’s Hand Up Food Pantry. The office is accepting donations of dry cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, beans, and fruit, crackers, juice, and granola/cereal bars. Donations may be dropped off at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St., from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. until noon on Fridays.
