Carvers Club Exhibition
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S Harrison St., will feature works from the Eastern Woodland Carvers Club in an exhibition from June 8-15. Visit the Library Community Room during normal operating hours to experience the beauty and skill of hand-carved masterpieces, from intricate sculptures to stunning woodworks, all created by talented artisans. On Thu., June 12, from 6-7 p.m., meet the artists while enjoying creative inspiration and light refreshments.

Adult Summer Reading Program
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold its annual Adult Summer Reading Program through July 11. Themed “Color Our World,” the program invites you to employ your creativity in a variety of artistic activities as you read. Sign up, receive a reading log. Check out books and turn in your registration sheets to get summer started right! Win fantastic prizes by just reading for two hours. Prizes are awarded for up to 10 hours of reading, and whenever you visit the library to borrow books. Taylor Summer Food Program
The Taylor Community School Corp. will offer a summer food program through June 20. Meals will be free to all children aged 18 or younger with no application or proof of income needed. All meals must be eaten on-site. Adults may purchase a meal for $4. Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., June 9. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Monster Truck Mayhem
Get ready for action-packed adventure designed for kiddos who are ready to rev their engines! Monster Truck Mayhem will take place at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr., on Mon., June 9, from 10-11 a.m. Little ones will race, play games, create mini arenas, and complete a craft.
Reach Youth Summer Program
Looking for a summer program for the kids while they’re out of school? Turning Point will offer a Reach Youth program, Monday through Friday, through July 25 at its Reach Youth Office, 216 W. Walnut St. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, kids will experience educational trips, sports and recreation, social enrichment, arts and crafts, relationship building, and free lunch. Sew Much
Teens and adults can drop in to learn sewing or quilting basics or get help with their projects at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Sew Much event on Mon., June 9, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sewing machines provided. This event takes place at the library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road.
Preschool Programs at Greentown Library
The Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will offer a variety of programs throughout the summer for preschoolers. Register for these sessions by calling 765-628-3534. On Mondays in June, enjoy Babes in Story Land from 11-11:30 a.m. This program is designed for children ages 0-2. Every Tuesday in June from 10:30-11:30 a.m. will bring Story Hour for children ages 4-5, beginning June 3. On Thursdays in June from 11-11:30 a.m., relive your favorite Mother Goose tales with your 3-year-olds. On Mon., June 30, get messy with your preschoolers as you paint as 4th of July t-shirt, beginning at 11 a.m. On Tue., July 1, at 11 a.m., it’s time for your little ones to make friends and explore color. On Thu., July 3, Wrangler and Friends visit the library at 11 a.m. to show how much Wrangler loves color.
Recovery Café
Turning Point – A System of Care offers the Recovery Café, a time to connect with love, show respect, cultivate compassion, practice forgiveness, encourage growth, and to give something back. KPRD Recreation Adventure
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold its Recreation Adventure Program at Highland, Bon Air, and Mohr parks through July 8. On Monday through Friday each week, from noon until 5 p.m., staff will be on hand at each park to offer leadership and organized games and sports for children, who may come and go on their own. Playgrounds will be supervised during these times. The staff also will offer arts and crafts, games, picnics, storytelling, and on Fridays they will offer special crafts. The cost of crafts will be $1 or less.

Sculpting at the Greentown Library
Throughout June, the Greentown Public Library, 421 S. Harrison St., will hold special programming each Monday from 2-3 p.m. On Mon., June 9, explore the art of sculpting. The library will provide air-dry clay and a variety of sculpting tools to help you shape, mold, and bring your artistic vision to life. All skill levels are welcome!
Heroes Don’t Have to Fly
Dive into the enchanting world of Shannon Anderson's beloved book, “Heroes Don't Have to Fly.” The Kokomo Howard County Public Library, 220 N. Union St., will host a hands-on activity on Mon., June 9, from 2-3 p.m. encouraging creativity and artistic expression as you color your world with kindness.
Adult Technology Camp
Join the Digital Den at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Mon., June 9, from 3-4:30 p.m. for a weekly class on all of the basics for technology in 2025. Also, learn how to stay safe online. Yard Waste Collection
The City of Kokomo will perform one round of yard waste collection, beginning Mon., June 9. Residents should move their yard waste to the curb before June 9 as city crews will make just one pass through the city before road construction season begins.

Active Readers Club
Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Tue., June 10, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., to stay active and share your favorite reads while walking around Russiaville. Inclement weather times will include an indoor workout at the library, 315 Mesa Dr.
Mental Health Access Days
Are you an adult struggling with anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenge? Meet with a professional from 4C Health who can connect you to the support and services you need. Mental Health Access Days are held each Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s main branch, 220 N. Union St.
Bookmobile Craft and Story Time
The KHCPL Bookmobile will visit Jackson Morrow Park on Tue., June 10, from 9:30-11 a.m. for crafts and story time. The bookmobile also will be open to sign up for the Summer Reading Program and to check out items.
Drums Alive!
Use rhythmic drumming and upbeat music to improve health, coordination, and strength at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s Drums Alive! session on Tue., June 10, from 10-10:30 a.m. The event will take place at the library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Free Summer Food Bags
This summer, all Tipton County families with kids under age 17 can register to pick up a free weekly food bag. Through Aug. 2, the bags will be available at the Tipton County Family Resource Center, 3021 W. Old St. (Ind. 28), as well as the Boys and Girls Club, and the Love Bug Café, 222 S. Independence St. The pick-up times are Mondays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Each bag includes shelf-stable, kid-friendly food items along with a voucher for hot food from The Love Bug Café. Register in person at the Family Resource Center or call 765-667-7001 for additional information. The summer food bag program is accepting donations and volunteers throughout the summer. Northwestern Schools Summer Meals
Northwestern School Corp. will offer a summer meal program, free to all friends ages 18 and under. Meal pick-up will be available at Howard Elementary School, 3526 N, CR 300 E, at Door 2, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday. The last day of distribution will be July 15. Summer Lunch Program
The Kokomo Housing Authority, Bridgeway Church, United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, the Howard County Health Department, the Center Township Trustee’s Office, Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union, Northview Church, and Crossroads Community Church have collaborated to launch the Howard County Summer Lunch Program. Each Wednesday through July 23, all students from Howard County are eligible to receive a hot meal from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Bon Air Park, Garden Square Apartments, and Pine Valley Apartments. They also can receive a grab-n-go bag of food during each event. If there are hot meals still available at the end of each event, adults may purchase a hot meal for $5. On June 27, declare a Color War! Meet on the Comet Trail near the T-ball field to jog through rainbow clouds, then cool off with a splash on the library lawn. On July 11, it’s time to Taste the rainbow, wrapping up the reading program with rainbow-themed snacks.

Registration runs from 9-11 a.m., with kickstands going up at 11:10 a.m. Cost of the ride is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers. All types of bikes are welcome to participate. Bike Safety Rodeo
Grab your bike and helmet and join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Sat., June 14, from 10 a.m. until noon, as the Russiaville Police Department teaches bike safety. If you don't have a helmet, the library will have one for you. This event takes place at the library’s Russiaville branch, 315 Mesa Dr.
Greentown Glass Festival
The Greentown Main Street Association announces the Greentown Glass Festival, scheduled for June 14, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. in downtown Greentown. The event is co-sponsored by McCool’s Flooring of Kokomo and the Greentown Main Street Association. Five local bands will perform throughout the day on a stage sponsored by First Farmers Bank and Trust. At noon, Sarah Barton and 2nd That Band performs, followed by Sonic Union at 2 p.m., the Medicinal Bluegrass Band at 4 p.m., the Keyton Romero Band at 6 p.m., and the Blue Collar Union at 8 p.m. A cruise-in will take place during the day at the Greentown American Legion Post 317, sponsored by Century Villa. Craft vendors will set up downtown from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. The Greentown Farmers Market will operate from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. From noon until 6 p.m. Josiah White’s will hold a Family Fun Zone from noon until 6 p.m. A parade will run through downtown, leaving from Eastern High School at 11 a.m. Food trucks will be present throughout the day. The National Greentown Glass Association will hold its annual convention on June 13-14 in conjunction with the event. Take Flight: Birds of Prey
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department will hold its next Creature Feature on Sat., June 14, at the Kirkendall Nature Center in Jackson Morrow Park. From 11 a.m. until noon and from 1-2 p.m. bird lovers of all ages can enjoy getting up close and personal with a variety of birds of prey. This is event is free and open to the public.

A Cruise In will be held as part of the Greentown Glass Festival on Sat., June 14, taking place at the American Legion Post 317 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The entrance fee is $15, and dash plaques will be given to the first 60 to register. Hollering at the Art Association
The Kokomo Art Association welcomes Christina Hollering as its featured artist through June 27. Hollering is a paper-cutting artist, muralist, and public artist who serves as associate professor at the Herron School of Art and Design. Her work will be on display at Artworks, 210 N. Yoga in the Park
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department welcomes back Yoga in the Park, featuring 11 free yoga sessions in three different public parks. The sessions are open to all skill levels and are totally free to the public. Classes will take place in Jackson Morrow Park at the shelter from 6-7 p.m. on Sat., June 14, July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 20. Highland Park will host classes at the Earthen Stage from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 21, July 19, and Aug. 2. Foster Park will feature yoga at the Performing Arts Pavilion from 8-9 a.m. on Sat., June 28, July 16, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6. KPRD does not supply mats or other equipment.
Creamed Corn Chug
The Literacy Coalition of Howard County will take center stage at the 2025 Floating Lantern and Foodie Feast-ival at Beaver Point Campground in Windfall on June 14 at 7 p.m. It will be the recipient of proceeds from a creamed corn chugging contest fundraiser. Participants will pay $25 to prove they are the fastest at consuming a 60 oz. pitcher of creamed corn. The fastest, cleanest chug will take the title.
