Christmas Lights of Greentown
The annual Christmas Lights of Greentown event begins Fri., Nov. 25, and runs on selected nights through the Christmas season from 6-9 p.m. Event dates are Dec. 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24; For more information, visit https://e-clubhouse.org/sites/greentown/page-10.php.
Journey Thru Bethlehem
First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 2000 W. Jefferson St., will hold a production of Journey Thru Bethlehem on Dec. 4 from 6-8 p.m. Take a dramatized, guided walking tour that retells the amazing story of Christ’s birth. All are welcome to attend.
KCT’s Christmas Performance
Kokomo Civic Theatre will offer its Christmas season performance, “Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall,” on Dec. 4 at Indiana University Kokomo’s Havens Auditorium, 2300 S. Washington St. Performance is 2 p.m. Tickets are available now by visiting www.kokomocivictheatre.org/tickets .
ABATE Kids Christmas Party
ABATE Indiana, Howard County Chapter, will hold its 2022 Kids Christmas Party on Sun., Dec. 4, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Kokomo Shrine Club, 3892 E, CR 00 NS, Kokomo. This is a free event for the entire community. Bring a gift worth no more than $10 for Santa to give to your child, and a Christmas treat or dessert to pitch in. Pizza will be provided, and drinks will be available for purchase. Each participating child will also receive a stocking loaded with toys and goodies.

Grinch Candy Cane Hunt
The Kokomo Howard County Public Library will hold special Grinch Candy Cane Hunts at all its locations. Santa and his elves hid candy canes at the library, but the Grinch found out and plans to turn them green unless kids ages 3-5 help stop him. There will be a story, a craft, and a candy cane hunt during this event. The Grinch visits the Russiaville Branch, 315 Mesa Dr., on Mon., Dec. 5, from 10-10:30 a.m., the South Branch, 1755 E. Center Road, on Wed., Dec. 7, from 10-10:45 a.m., and the Main Branch, 220 N. Union St., on Thu., Dec. 8, from 10:30-11 a.m.
Kindermusik
The Kokomo Howard County Public Library and the Very Early Childhood Education Center (VECEC) will partner to hold a session of Kindermusik: Wiggle and Grow on Mon., Dec. 5, from 10-10:45 a.m. at the VECEC, 210 W. Walnut St. Classes Are designed for children ages 18 months to 3 years to promote cognitive development through singing, dancing, and instrument play.

Mental Health Walk-In Clinic
The Kokomo Howard County Public Library will host a free Mental Health Walk-In Clinic on Tue., Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Main Branch, 220 N. Union St, in the Quiet Study Room. Adults struggling with depression, anxiety, or other mental health challenges can talk confidentially with a 4C associate who can help find treatment locally.
Next Chapter Book Club
The Kokomo Howard County Public Library will hold its Next Chapter Book Club on Tue., Dec. 6, from 10-11 a.m. in the Main Branch’s Large Group Study Room, 220 N. Union St. Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, regardless of reading or ability levels, can join in reading, learning, and making friends. Legal Aid Clinic
The Kokomo Howard County Public Library will host a free legal aid clinic on Wed., Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. until noon in the Main Branch’s Large Group Study Room 220 N. Union St. Apply with Pro Bono Indiana, Inc. to get legal assistance at no cost. No appointment is needed for this event.
INDOT U.S. 31 Improvement Meeting
The Indiana Department of Transportation will conduct a public meeting concerning the development of U.S. 31 through Tipton County on Wed., Dec. 7, from 5-7 p.m. at the Tipton County Fairgrounds, 1200 S. Main St., Tipton. The INDOT study will determine how U.S. 31 looks and functions over the next 30 years, and public input will be considered.
Writers’ Group
A group of amateur fiction writers will meet on Wed., Dec. 7, from 5-8 p.m. in the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s South Branch, 1755 E. Center Road. Join in by writing something and submitting it for critique and honest feedback.

Preschool Play Group
The Kokomo Howard County Public Library will hold a Preschool Playgroup session – My Five Christmas Senses – on Thu., Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Russiaville Branch, 315 Mesa Dr. Enjoy activities and make new friends. Kids get to practice their social skills, and adults get to connect with other adults.
Christmas at the Seiberling
The Howard County Historical Society will host this year’s Christmas at the Seiberling with evening hours each Thursday and Friday in December from 4-8 p.m. at the Seiberling Mansion, 1200 W. Sycamore St. A special “candlelight” self-guided tour evening will be held on Dec. 24. Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $10. Tickets can be purchased online. Mr. Scrooge’s Christmas

Play Dough Play
If you think Play Dough is just for fun, think again! DNA Testing Kits
Do you have questions about DNA testing kits? Join the Kokomo Howard County Public Library on Sat., Dec. 10, from 1-2 p.m. at its Main Branch, 220 N. Union St. We'll provide info about Autosomal, Y-DNA, and Mitochondrial tests and give away two kits during the event.
Army/Navy Game Watch Party
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1152 will hold an Army/Navy Game Watch Party on Sat., Dec. 10, at the post, 920 N. Washington St., with kick-off at 3 p.m. The event is open to the public, and fans are encouraged to wear gear supporting their team.

Western Winter Concert
The Western High School Band will hold its Winter Concert on Mon., Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. in Neuhauser Auditorium at Western High School. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. A free-will donation will be taken as admission to the event. The Winter Guard will hold a bake sale from 6-7 p.m. prior to the event.
Winter Weather Spotter and Safety Presentation
The U.S. National Weather Service, Indianapolis, will hold a virtual Winter Weather Spotter and Safety presentation on Wed., Dec. 14, from 4-5:30 p.m. In this live, online class, participants will learn about winter weather hazards, keeping safe, and how to measure snowfall and make reports to the National Weather Service. Wildkat Night
All 8th grade students and their families are invited to attend Wildkat Night at the Kokomo High School Auditorium. Enter the school at KHS Door 1, the southwest entrance off Lincoln Road. Participants can tour the high school and the Kokomo Area Career Center, learn about KHS programs and academics, receive information about available clubs, sports, and activities, and meet administrators, counselors, and faculty.
Dimensions of Wellness
Community Howard Regional Health will hold a virtual seminar entitled “Dimensions of Wellness: Holistic Approach to Health,” on Wed., Dec. 14, from 6-8 p.m. People often think about wellness in terms of physical health: nutrition, exercise, weight management, etc., but it involves much more. Wellness is a holistic integration of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, fueling the body, engaging the mind, and nurturing the spirit. While overall health is important, living life fully and becoming the best version of oneself is equally important. This discussion will review the dimensions of health and how they all interact together. This event will be instructed by certified health coach Rachel Baker and Dr. Homer Schreckengost. Red Ribbon Volunteers Needed
The Kokomo Rescue Mission needs volunteers to drive and deliver Red Ribbon Christmas Boxes on Dec. 16, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Boxes will be picked up at the mission’s warehouse, 1942 E. Candy Toss
The Taylor Township Fire Department will hold a Candy Toss on Sat., Dec. 17, beginning at 8 a.m. Fire trucks and ambulances will travel through the township with plenty of candy to share, resuming the annual tradition that dates back more than 30 years. Listen for the sirens and be on the lookout for their arrival. You can also follow the 2022 Taylor Twp Candy Toss page on Facebook to track the fire truck’s location.
Pictures with the Grinch
Get pictures with the Grinch, write letters to Santa, create holiday cards, and watch The Grinch movie at a free Pictures with the Grinch event at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library South Branch, 1755 E. Center Road, from 1-4 p.m. This event, sponsored by True Professional Tax Services, is free to the public, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Family Service Association of Howard County.
Camp Tycony Winter Camp
The Kokomo Family YMCA will hold a Winter Camp at Camp Tycony on weekdays from Dec. 21, 2022, until Jan. 3, 2023. Campers will spend their Winter Break participating in various activities, weather permitting, including archery, canoeing and kayaking, hiking, and sports games, along with extra-special Christmas-themed activities. City of Lights
The annual City of Lights holiday display in Highland Park, 900 W. Defenbaugh St., will open to the public beginning on Fri., Nov. 25, and running through Dec. 24. The display opens at dusk. Santa Claus will be on hand from 6-10 p.m. each evening. Admission is free.
Antique and Collectible Show and Sale
An Antique and Collectible Show will be held at the Howard County 4H Fairgrounds Block Building in Greentown on Dec. 31, 2022, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Jan. 1, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Items offered during the event include toys, pattern glass, primitives, furniture, advertising, pottery, books, jewelry, Flo-Blue, depression glass, postcards, and more. KAA Pastel Classes
The Kokomo Art Association will host Pastel classes for beginners and intermediate artists each Thursday from Feb. 2 to March 2, 2023. This five-week class will teach beginners the basics and explore advanced techniques like “wet pastel” for more experienced users. Learn how to use different surfaces, hard and soft pastels, principles of composition, color theory, and layering techniques from Avon Waters, a juried-in associate member of the Pastel Society of America. Participants who don’t have supplies can share a pastel set during the class. Cost is $15 per session.
