The Play That Goes Wrong
Stumble your way to Havens Auditorium on the IU Kokomo Campus, 2300 S. Washington St., for “The Play That Goes Wrong,” the opening performance of the Kokomo Civic Theatre’s 2025-26 season. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Peru Circus City Festival
The Peru Circus City Festival will take place July 14-19 in Peru, Ind., featuring the 200 performers of the Peru Amateur Circus and the second largest parade in all of Indiana. The festival culminates with the parade on Sat., July 19, beginning at 10 a.m.
YMCA STEM Camp
Summer STEM Camp at Camp Tycony provides fun and educational activities designed to enhance children’s understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Thanks to generous support from the United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, there is no charge for this camp. Registration is open now, and spots are limited. Children may attend one session. Super Explorers Camp
The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department is expanding its Super Explorers Camp this year, offering a session of Senior Super Explorers Camp. Registration for the second camp session is open now. Senior Super Explorers for children ages 9-11 takes place July 14-18. The camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. To register, visit the KPRD office in Highland Park.
Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., July 14. Caregivers with a baby ages birth to 12 months are welcome to participate. Older siblings are welcome to join also.
Hi-Five Cheer Camp
For kids who love stories, movement, and having fun! Cheer Camp combines the spirit of cheerleading with the magic of picture books to create an unforgettable experience for your little ones. Reach Youth Summer Program
Looking for a summer program for the kids while they’re out of school? Turning Point will offer a Reach Youth program, Monday through Friday, through July 25 at its Reach Youth Office, 216 W. Walnut St. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, kids will experience educational trips, sports and recreation, social enrichment, arts and crafts, relationship building, and free lunch. Drums Alive!

Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union will hold a members-only Beach Party on Mon., July 14, at the Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center, 802 W. Free Summer Food Bags
This summer, all Tipton County families with kids under age 17 can register to pick up a free weekly food bag. Through Aug. 2, the bags will be available at the Tipton County Family Resource Center, 3021 W. Old St. (Ind. 28), as well as the Boys and Girls Club, and the Love Bug Café, 222 S. Independence St. The pick-up times are Mondays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Each bag includes shelf-stable, kid-friendly food items along with a voucher for hot food from The Love Bug Café. Register in person at the Family Resource Center or call 765-667-7001 for additional information. The summer food bag program is accepting donations and volunteers throughout the summer. Northwestern Schools Summer Meals
Northwestern School Corp. will offer a summer meal program, free to all friends ages 18 and under. Meal pick-up will be available at Howard Elementary School, 3526 N, CR 300 E, at Door 2, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday. The last day of distribution will be July 15. Summer Lunch Program
The Kokomo Housing Authority, Bridgeway Church, United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties, the Howard County Health Department, the Center Township Trustee’s Office, Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union, Northview Church, and Crossroads Community Church have collaborated to launch the Howard County Summer Lunch Program. Each Wednesday through July 23, all students from Howard County are eligible to receive a hot meal from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Bon Air Park, Garden Square Apartments, and Pine Valley Apartments. They also can receive a grab-n-go bag of food during each event. If there are hot meals still available at the end of each event, adults may purchase a hot meal for $5. Carver Summer Basketball League
The Carver Community Center will offer a Summer Basketball League from July 17 to Aug. 21. Games will be played each Thursday evening, and teams are guaranteed six games. There will be a seeded and bracketed tournament to finish the season with a championship trophy. Registrations are open now for players in grade divisions K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Everyone is invited to the Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road, on Fri., July 18, for Kokochella, Kokomo’s first music festival created for young music lovers. Summer Singing Celebration
Kokomo Curtain Call Theatre of Children will kick off its 25th season with a Summer Singing Celebration on Sat., July 19, at the Carver Community Center, 1030 N.
