Wildkats boys basketball honored by school board
KHS Jobs for America and Health Occupation Students Also Recognized at May KCS Board Meeting

The semi-state champion Kokomo High School Varsity Boys Basketball team was honored with a resolution of appreciation and commendation at the May Kokomo Center School Board of Trustees meeting on May 8.
Coach John Peckinpaugh credited the Wildkats for their outstanding offense and defense during the exciting season, which culminated with a run to the state championship game against No. 1-ranked Ben Davis after defeating No. 2-ranked Penn.
Peckinpaugh stated that Kats played the tournament with “truly a team effort … these young men focused their talents on being a winning team.”
Also honored at the meeting was the KHS Esports team, which claimed an individual state title and a team state championship during the Indiana High School Esports Network 2023 Chess State Finals.
The board gave commendations to the Kokomo Area Career Center Health and Occupations Students of America (HOSA) for a 4th place earned in the Certified Nursing Assistant State competition and participation in the HOSA International Leadership Conference.
Board honors were given to winners of the KHS Jobs for America Graduates for winning the 2023 Regional Career Development Conference.
