The undefeated Kokomo Wildkats invaded Mike Raisor Athletic Complex Friday night in a bid to enter the IHSAA tournament with a spotless record.
The Wildkats held their conference rivals, Lafayette Jefferson, down until late in the second half where turnovers and time sealed Kokomo’s fate.
Kokomo had 344 yards of total offense, with senior captain Evan Barker accounting for 171 of the Wildkats’ 270 rushing yards. Sophomore Andrew Barker punted the ball for the Wildkats three times, dropping two of the kicks within the 20-yard line.
On defense, Jaquan East led the Wreck ‘N Crew with 11 tackles.
